Steve Aoki Philadelphia Concert reviews
Fantastic Time
Steve Aoki and Gladys Knight (can't say that enough) so this review is going to be 100% biased, lol. Heads of State were the opening act. Ralph was wonderful dancing and singing backup to both throughout the performance. Bobby Brown did a phenomenal job and Johnny Gill (not one of my faves) was on point. I wished it had been New Edition instead of the Heads of State though because the set list would have been different. Fortunately, they performed vintage Don't be Cruel tracks. Ralph only did 2 songs and I believe Gill did 3 of his. Bobby was winded and let us know it. Then came Miss Gladys who looked soooo incredibly nice in her slimmed down frame. She wore a fabulously sparkling navy blue ensemble and her vocals were absolutely on point (aren't they always). Her set was the calm between Steve and Heads. As usual, there was a 10 minute set that included Bubba. Bubba has changed his playlist up a little bit and now includes "Happy". Then came the man we all were waiting for...Steve Aoki who always enters on The Party Train. His energy level is through the roof and does not show it's age. He, too ended up winded and told us, lol. He changed clothes, let his band entertain us magnificently and performed the harmonies we have come to love. The only draw back for me personally was his "chuch" moment. I didn't come for that but if that's what the man saw in his spirit to do then so be it.
